Borno
State governor Kashim Shettima, on Friday, announced that 250 ex-Civilian Joint
Task Force (CJTF) members have been recruited into the Nigerian Army.
Mr.
Shettima, who said that he has been liaising with the Ministry of Interior to
ensure that no single volunteer will be left out, as long as they have
sacrificed their life defending the State and the nation.
It
will be recalled that Civilian JTF volunteers have played a pivotal role in
maintaining the safety of residents living under the control of Boko Haram
terrorists, particularly in instances when there were no police or military in
the area. Numerous Civilian JTF members have lost their lives during the course
of Boko Haram's domination over Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States.
The
leader of the new recruits to the army, Solomon Benjamin, thanked Mr. Shettima
for his sacrifices and contributions to the Civilian JTF and promised to be a
good ambassador of the State.
